About CRISP

Long Story Short

CRISP is more than just hydrofoil stabilisers - it’s the result of passion, precision, and a relentless pursuit of performance.

Founder Chris Porter, an Aerospace Engineer with 20 years of experience, discovered foiling in 2020, and it quickly became his obsession. Unlike his previous passions of surfing and windsurfing, foiling pulled him into nearly every discipline, from surf to downwind and everything in between. As he progressed on stock gear, he found himself dissatisfied when it came time to upgrade. Instead of settling, he built a backyard CNC machine - determined to design and manufacture his own.

As word spread, local riders took notice, and soon Chris was crafting stabilisers for fellow enthusiasts across Western Australia. From these early designs emerged the CRISP 333, a stabiliser that gained popularity worldwide. The breakthrough moment came when Oskar Johansson set a world record, foiling for 2 hours and 46 minutes non-stop in the surf, riding the CRISP 333. The achievement caught the eye of Armstrong Foils, leading Chris to spend two years designing with their team, contributing to the APF, S1, DWP and the world-renowned HAv2 series foils. During that time, Armstrong was awarded "Foil Brand of the Year 2024".

Now, in 2025, CRISP is back - more refined, more experienced, and more driven than ever. With cutting-edge engineering and an unwavering commitment to performance, CRISP products deliver unmatched experiences for foilers across all major brands.

Precision

In hydrofoil products, sub-millimeter accuracy is essential. Precision is designed into every CRISP process - from airfoil section coordinate definitions and CAD modeling to CNC machining and meticulous hand-finishing. The result? Products that consistently deliver performance true to the original design intent.
